My two oldest friends sitting on a shelf so high.
It is time to take you down to tell you goodbye.

I remember the time we shared in the past.
The love we had I thought would always last.

When my Daddy got sick and then he died,
it was you that I wanted  by my side.

When I was out of sorts or sad
you were the dearest friends I had.

I always found you with smiles so sweet,
waiting for me there on the window seat.

It is time to take you from the shelf above
and pass you on for long awaited love.

To make you new clothes and brush your hair.
To give you both such loving care.

To pass you to someone to hug you tight
and protect you till the morning light.

You waited up there my friends I've outgrown.
The two sweetest friends I have ever known.
